The City of Fort Lauderdale uses a variety of electronic communication and social media tools to engage and collaborate with neighbors, as well as to inform them about all of the great things our City has to offer. At little to no cost, these tools help the City:
Elevate citizen engagement and collaboration;
Increase awareness, promote transparency, and stimulate feedback;
Learn about community needs and concerns;
Promote programs, events, and services;
Uncover citizens' ideas and incorporate them into the City's innovative process; and
Communicate to the widest audience possible in a way that people communicate with each other.
The City of Fort Lauderdale's social media platforms are intended to be "family friendly.” The primary goals of the City’s use of social media are to increase public awareness of the City’s programs, policies, and services and to maintain open, professional, and responsive communications with members of the public regarding the City.
The City encourages people who follow the City on social media to share comments, ideas, and concerns. While comments will not be edited by City personnel, a comment may not be published or may be screened if it violates the City's Social Media Terms of Use.
