Hollywood is proud to be plastic and foam free. In 2018, the City banned nonbiodegradable containers, like plastics and expanded polystyrene foam (EPS), used by businesses for serving food products on the barrier island. In 2020, the City banned use of these items by individuals on Hollywood Beach and at all City-owned facilities, parks and permitted events.
