Summary

Greensboro Vermont is a rural town in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, with a year-round population of about 800 living across approximately 40 square miles. Alongside the year-round residents, there is also a community of ‘summer people’ from across the world who have seasonal camps on Caspian Lake. Greensboro is a key location for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, due to our core habitat, such as on Barr Hill Nature Preserve, and because we are at the center of a crucial corridor across Northeast Vermont. Since March of 2024, Pollinator-Friendly Greensboro - with the help of the Greensboro Conservation Commission - has been working to educate people about creating habitats for pollinators and other wildlife, and encouraging certification of gardens with NWF. Our latest project is an ‘Example Pollinator Garden’ at the Greensboro Bend Rail Trail Parking, which will be planted starting spring 2025. We look forward to getting many more people involved in Certified Wildlife Habitat and becoming a Community Wildlife Habitat in the years ahead.
