Wilmington is a port city in New Hanover County, North Carolina. It’s known as a gateway to the Cape Fear Region. Part of downtown’s Historic District, the Riverwalk runs along the Cape Fear River and ends at the Urban Garden located in Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park. With a population of 117,643 as of 2021, Wilmington is home to over 22 parks, with streams, lakes, and ponds. After Hurricane Florence came through Wilmington, we lost so many trees and plants to the destruction of the winds.
