The city of Wauwatosa is located 4 miles west of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Wisconsin's 14th largest city. Wauwatosa is surrounded by seven beautiful parks and wooded areas along the Menomonee River. The Oak Leaf Trail connects the city to the East and West to numerous bike trails. Wauwatosa was recently certified as a Bird City. Our city is on the route of many migratory birds, and has excellent bird watching. Wauwatosa has a strong community sustainability commitment, as evidenced by its energy-efficient operations, green spaces, clean streets and waterways, and clean air. These indicators demonstrate a city that is investing in its future and is very desirable for individuals and employers seeking to relocate to the area. Currently, Wauwatosa has over 151 individual gardens, including a school, the Ronald McDonald House and Outpost Natural Foods Co-op certified by the National Wildlife Federation as Wildlife Community Habitats.
