Greater Stonehaven Community

Charlotte, NC

Neighborhood or HOA

Population: 4580

Summary

Stonehaven is a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina with a population of 6400. Stonehaven is in Mecklenburg County and is one of the best places to live in North Carolina. Living in Stonehaven offers residents a nature rich, suburban feel with mature landscaping and robust tree canopy. Originally developed in the 1950s and 60s, our neighborhood was the epitome of suburban Charlotte – designed for the comfort of families with classic brick ranch homes, split-levels and the occasional two-story along winding, tree-lined streets and creeks. Our wildlife include a wide variety of songbirds and raptors, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, racoons, opossum, box turtles, snakes and lizards, and lots of pollinators. We have the most concentration of certified wildlife habitats of any neighborhood in Charlotte. Today, we’re considered close in and an easy 12 minute commute to Uptown. Our mature trees and wildlife friendly landscapes make Stonehaven one of the most pleasing neighborhoods in the city. But what delights our residents even more is our sense of community. Here, our families take daily walks along peaceful sidewalks and stop to greet each other, dog walkers stop to chat, and we bring casseroles to our neighbors and watch out for each other. For more than 25 years, we’ve turned out for special events and celebrations. We have our own website: https://stonehavencharlotte.com/ We’re proud of our schools, and our kids can actually walk or bike to them. We jog and cycle on nearby McAlpine Greenway and hike and play at Boyce Road Park, both of which adjoin our neighborhood. We have a growing number of NWF Certified Wildlife Habitats with more being added each month. We are proud to be the first neighborhood in Charlotte to become a NWF certified community and hope to inspire others to follow our lead.
