Reclaimed Retention Basin
Retention Basin project was necessitated by Super Storm Sandy washing away plantings. With the help of the N.J. Audubon Society and a grant from the Xerces Society, the area was reclaimed.
Milkweed Guests
Several years ago, Village IV in Panther Valley planted a small garden of milkweed. This was taken in 2021. This year the plants are larger and more colorful. Attracting human visitors too!
What Is Your Wingspan?
Pictures supplied by Open Space Director, banner made by the town crafty ladies and the artwork by the school art teacher. Collaboration challenges children of all ages to stretch.
Townhouse Habitat
Even small areas in townhouse environments can qualify as a backyard habitat.
Milkweed Memorial Garden
Small area dedicated to our neighbor Bob Vinson. He would plant the seeds, care for the plants, collect the larva and hatch the Monarchs.
Build A Habitat And They Will Come
Small tree in a small yard. Added a bird bath and native flowers. Spring brought a nest and momma and daddy cardinal to start a family. What a gift to hear chirps and to see baby’s firsts.
