Summary

Highland Park is located along Lake Michigan, about 25 miles north of downtown Chicago, in the southeastern corner of Lake County, Illinois. Long known for its history of environmental stewardship, the town boasts significant wooded areas, various parks, forest preserves, and stunning ravines. Highland Park is also home to the Ravinia Music Festival a 3,200 seat open-air pavilion that is the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the go-to performance venue for pop, jazz, and Latin concerts as well. Bordering Highland Park is the Chicago Botanic Garden, a 385-acre living plant museum and horticultural education center.
