Summary

The Oldsmar name dates back to 1916 when automobile pioneer Ransom E. Olds purchased nearly 40,000 acres of land by the northern part of Tampa Bay. Oldsmar was the first municipality in the Tampa Bay area to implement single stream recycling, the first municipality in the Tampa Bay area to install electric charging stations, and Florida’s first Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant to be certified in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) and second in the nation. Now, residents are helping Oldsmar become the first “Community Wildlife Habitat” in Tampa Bay!
