Shadow Lake Nature Preserve

The SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve in Renton is home to the only known protected sphagnum-hemlock peat bog in the state of Washington. Sphagnum peat bogs are a sink for carbon-dioxide. SHADOW Lake became a Certified Wildlife Habitat in 2013.
