Summary

The Audubon Park Garden District is an award winning shopping and dining ecodistrict in Orlando, Florida. Situated north of downtown Orlando, between Leu Gardens and Blue Jacket Park, the APGD is home to some of Central Florida's most loved brewpubs, dining, shopping and entertainment. Named a Great American Main Street Award Winner for 2016, the APGD is also home to a variety of events including Kidsfest, wine walks, outdoor festivals, the Retro Modern Home Tour and the APGD Garden Tour. In addition to great activities, the APGD is also working with the City of Orlando to become Florida's first ecodistrict. The ecodistrict initiative includes planting a biodiverse urban forest in the community; creating an urban bird sanctuary at Song Bird Park; creating the first bicycle powered composting service in the United States; creating Fleet Farms - a program that turns front lawns into organic farmlettes that are then harvested and sent to local markets via bicycle; and a host of other sustainability projects aimed at protecting the environment, while also fostering small businesses. The goal of the APGD is to create the most economically, environmentally and socially sustainable community in Florida.
